Be lavish in complimenting others. Doing the exact opposite and being kind to others will help you be kind to yourself.

Write yourself a pep talk. Write down all of your positive traits on a postcard. Whenever you feel a lack of confidence, read it. An even more effective solution would be to read the list out and have it recorded on video; playing it back when you are feeling low. Why should you do this?

For people with serious problems, therapy may be the best answer. Sometimes it takes a professional, outside perspective to identify the real source of a problem and this cannot be found in self-help books. Talking can be the motivation that some need in order to be successful. A psychiatrist can have a discussion with you, where a book cannot.

Now that your personal development knowledge has expanded, your own path forward should be a little rosier. Personal development is an ongoing process, so keep looking for information that can help you on your journey, and never stop learning.
